Rev. Dr. Joanne Sizoo

Pastor

The Rev. Dr. Joanne Sizoo has degrees from the University of California, San Diego, Fuller Theological Seminary and San Francisco Theological Seminary. Even with all that education, she is still pretty fun. She almost always loves her work, even when it's hard. She likes to join people on their journeys with God through Jesus Christ, help them find their own places of ministry, and try to live with integrity as a faith community.

Joanne has a spouse, Sam Roberson, three adult daughters, and a daughter and son in college. Rounding out the family are dogs Cali and Molly, and McKippen the cat. Joanne has done ministry in all the "O" states, as well as California, and both of the Carolinas.

Joanne is getting more technologically competent, but has not yet become a blogger. She does, however, send a weekly email with the prayer requests from the previous week, activities that are coming up, and sometimes some rambling thoughts. Email her at and she'll add you to the list.

Virginia McLean

Dir., Educational Ministries

Virginia provides staff support to the Children's Ministry Team, Adult Education Team, and Fellowship Team. She also blogs about how families can share faith at home in everyday moments at Sharing in the Journey (www.sharinginthejourney.blogspot.com). She attended Winthrop University for her undergraduate degree and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia for her masters. She has worked in outdoor, children, and youth ministry settings before coming to Grace. Virginia is married to Michael and they have one son, Carl, and two cats, Peppers and Gracie. In her spare time, Virginia enjoys gardening, crafting, cooking from scratch and riding her bike.

Joy Murphy

Dir., Youth Ministries

Joy is the Director of Youth Ministries and is responsible for gYg, Sunday night youth fellowship that includes mission opportunties, spiritual retreats and the Pumpkin Patch fundraiser, as well as Youth Sunday School. She attended Winthrop University for her undergraduate degree in Special Education with a minor in dance.

Joy has worked as a High School Special Education Teacher, in full time Youth Ministry and Christian Education before coming to Grace in Feb of 2011. She is also a Board Member of Tsunami Ministries (Non-Profit that supports local youth ministries) and is a member of the Educational Ministries Team of Providence Presbytery. Joy is married to Brian and mommy to Morrison, and two dogs Mikey & Janie. In her spare time, Joy enjoys dancing, baking, and being with family.

Jackie Johnson

Administrator

Jackie is responsible for managing the business and administrative affairs of the church as well as providing staff support for several committees and groups within the church. She has an associate degree in accounting and previously worked in the health care field as director of Assisted Living facilities. She always has time for Grace members whether they stop by the office or call on the phone.

Jackie and her husband moved to the Rock Hill area 15 years ago and their three grown children soon followed. Her time off from work is spent with family, friends, and two dogs, Zoe and Freckles.

Administrative Assistant

Kim is our part-time administrative assistant. She's responsible for managing the member database, producing the weekly Sunday bulletin, maintaining our church events calendar and coordinating facilities use.

Ginger Deaton

Co-Dir., Music Ministries

Ginger is one of our music directors here at Grace. She has loved music her entire life and you can find her sitting on the piano bench every Sunday morning. Ginger accompanies our adult choir, the Grace Notes, as well as soloists and ensembles throughout the year. She directs our children's choir, the Half Notes, and heads up the music for VBS each summer. She holds a degree in Music Performance (in percussion!) from Winthrop University and resides in Rock Hill with her husband, Brent, and their son, Miles.

Jennifer Cairns

Nursery Director

Jennifer Cairns is our Nursery Director. Jennifer grew up here, graduated from Fort Mill High School in 1995 and attended York Technical College where she later received two associates degrees. Jennifer is a single mother of a Jordyn and they currently live here in Fort Mill.

In addition to working at Grace, Jennifer has a full-time position as a Sales Manager & Executive Assistant at Alpha - A division of Checkpoint, a part-time position in Child Watch at the Gold Hill YMCA and is CPR certified.

Jennifer coordinates the work of all our nursery workers, as well as working with our children in the nursery.

Melissa Hunter

Preschool Director

Melissa is a charter member of Grace Church. She has been the director of our preschool since its opening in 2000. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education.
