Baptism
We celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism of children, youth, and adults. Parents are invited to present their infants and children for baptism because we believe that baptism is a sign of grace and that God's grace is extended to the children of believers even before children can articulate their faith. Presbyterians baptize people of all ages by sprinkling. Baptism is celebrated during worship.
May I have my child baptized at Grace?
Certainly. Baptism is a sacrament—a special practice of the church which signifies God's call and care of a child to our congregation. It is normally expected that at least one parent will be an active member of the church; because children learn faith best while a part of a local congregation.
Are adults baptized, too?
Yes, we often baptize adults who are ready to profess their faith. Like the infant or child baptism, we normally expect the adult to become an active member of our congregation.
