Connection Groups

There are a number of ways to be active at Grace. We have ministry teams that help coordinate our work and mission, activity groups, and more.

Grace Family First

Throughout the school year we meet a few of the first Sundays of the month to focus on family, faith, fellowship, and of course food! We meet at 5:15 in the sanctuary for a potluck supper. The children’s choir, The Half Notes, and Joyful Noise both perform a few songs. We also have a faith centered and/or service activity. Contact the church office for more information.
November 6
Please bring your favorite Thanksgiving side or dessert to share, turkey will be provided. We will fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
December 4
Annual Chili Cook-off! The Half Notes perform their Christmas musical and we have a live nativity.
March 4
Please bring a soup or bread to share, no desserts. We will have a simple meal to help remind us of those who have little or go without. We will also have a game night! So bring your favorite board or card game to share. The Half Notes and Joyful Noise will also preform.
May 6
The Half Notes Spring Musical! We will have a potluck supper, bring your favorite summer dish to share!

Neighborhood Nights

A few times a year we gather at the church for food and fellowship. People sit with other people from their same neighborhood to get to know their neighbors who go to Grace. We meet from 6:30 to 8:30 at the church.
Friday, October 14- Apple Pick’n Party
Bring apple themed food and drinks! We’ll play Apples to Apples! Bob for Apples!
Friday, January 20- Hulapalooza
Bring Hawaiian themed food! Hula-hoop contest! Limbo!
Friday, April 20- Nifty Fifties Night
Break out those retro recipes and jello molds! We’ll also have Coke floats! Sock Hop Fun! Wear your letterman jacket!

Book Club

Do you enjoy reading? Check out our monthly book choice and join us the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in room 14 for good food, lively conversation, and fellowship. We encourage everyone to bring a friend. Call the church office for more information.

Prayer Shawl Ministry: Knitting and Crocheting Group

Sundays from 4pm to 6pm in room 14 we gather to knit and/or crochet, pray, and fellowship. This group has produced lovely prayer shawls for baptisms at Grace and York County Hospice and baby caps for CMC Pineville. Don’t know how to knit or crochet? No problem! We’ll teach you. Donations of yarn are always welcome.

Graceful Threads: Quilting Group

Thursdays from 1:30 to 4pm in room 7 we gather to sew. We’ve created pillowcases for Thornwell Home for Children. Each child receives one on his or her birthday. The group has also finished their first quilt to be auctioned off. All leaves of sewing ability are encouraged to join us.

Fellowship Events

Throughout the year the Fellowship Team works hard to provide fellowship opportunities for the Grace community. Some of these events include Ladies Night Out, attending Knight’s baseball games, congregational picnics, attending local theatre, and more.
