Meals on WheelsSeveral teams (usually comprised of two families) serve on a rotating basis, approximately every 6 to 8 weeks, to prepare and deliver a warm meal for several individuals who need help every Sunday afternoon.
Interfaith Hospitality NetworkThis wonderful program is designed to help temporary homeless families get on their feet. Volunteers from our church prepare supper for the families and stay overnight with them in a host church in Rock Hill. Our church provides volunteers once a quarter.
Angel TreeDuring the Christmas season we share tangible good news with area people. Paper angels adorn a Christmas tree in our sanctuary—which includes the age and need of a person for whom a gift is purchased and wrapped by an individual, and returned and forwarded. The sources of referral need are 1) our county social services departments for families who have someone in jail or prison, and 2) the Regional Aids Interfaith Network for families who have an immediate family member living with AIDs. We share God's love to those in need.
Habitat For HumanityGrace Presbyterian has always been a strong supporter in this ministry. This wonderful ministry helps many families own their own home for the first time. We support our local Habitat for Humanity whenever they notify us that they need support.
Scouting Ministries
We believe scouting is a healthy program to grow maturity, service, leadership in children and youth. Grace has been a Scouting church for years. We are hosts and sponsor partners with a local council of Boy Scouts of America for three Scouting units:
- Cub Scout Pack 250 - Boys in first through fifth grades, meet in dens twice a month, and in a pack once per month (on Tuesday nights) at the church campus. For more information on Pack 250, click here.
- Boy Scout Troop 250 - Boys age 11-18, meet Monday evenings at 7:00 on the church campus, with off-sight camping weekends monthly. For more information on Troop 250, click here.
- Venturing Crew 250 -- Teenage boys and girls, ages 14 through high school meet the first and third Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. The Crew plans and engages in high-adventure outings, such as rock climbing, whitewater rafting, and more as a way to build leadership skills. AA and Al Anon
The largest drug problem in the United States is addiction to a legal product: alcohol. The most effective way of helping people stop addiction to alcohol and other drugs is the "twelve step" group meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
Al Anon is the corresponding support and learning group for spouses and other relatives of alcohol addicted persons.
Grace church is a site and sponsor of this extraordinary health and healing ministry. We host AA meetings Mondays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m. We host Al Anon meetings Mondays and Fridays at 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Some of our church members are recovering alcoholics, or family members of same, attending a twelve step group on our campus, and in other locations.
If addiction is part of your life, we pray you will seek the partnership of a twelve step group to become sober, to stay sober, and to return to a healthy and productive and loving life. You may come to a twelve step group and start whenever you choose to do so.
